Game of thrones, American crime story e Veep são consagrados no Emmy 2016. Confira a lista de vencedores

Em uma cerimônia marcada por discursos ativistas e forte representatividade, a 68ª edição do Emmy Awards, realizada na noite deste domingo, confirmou favoritismos nas categorias principais. Episódio épico de Game of thrones, vencedora como melhor série dramática, o Batalha dos Bastardos confirmou a previsibilidade e venceu em melhores roteiro e direção, apesar de não consagrar o ator Kit Harington como coadjuvante. Com as prêmios da noite, o seriado da HBO se tornou a produção mais premiada do Emmy e desbancou a sitcom Frasier. Agora a produção possui 38 prêmios.
A vitória de Rami Malek, protagonista de Mr Robot, foi uma surpresa. Não por falta de talento ou torcida, já que ele era considerado favorito em listas de apostas ou enquetes online. No entanto, não é comum o Emmy premiar atores de séries novas. Além disso, ele desbancou Kevin Spacey, de House of cards, na categoria melhor ator de série dramática, que ainda não venceu um Emmy como Frank Underwood. Outro resultado surpreendente, mas muito merecido, foi a atriz Tatiana Maslany, protagonista de Orphan black, na qual incorpora múltiplos personagens. Ela venceu fortes candidatas, como Viola Davis (How to get away with murder) e Robin Wright (House of cards).
A estreante American crime story: O povo contra O.J. Simpson foi a grande vencedora da noite, em categorias como melhor minissérie, roteiro, ator coadjuvante, ator e atriz. A consagração de Veep como melhor série cômica foi previsível. Outro destaque foi Julia Louis-Dreyfus, que preservou a soberania na categoria melhor atriz cômica. Com 22 indicações no total e oito troféus, a protagonista de Veep venceu pela quinta vez consecutiva.
"Quero pedir desculpas pelo clima político atual. Acho que Veep derrubou a divisão entre a comédia e a política. Nossa série começou como sátira, mas agora parece um documentário sobre a realidade. Prometo que vou reconstruir aquele muro e fazer o México pagar por ele", disse, em uma crítica direta ao candidato republicano Donald Trump.
As vitórias de Transparent em direção e melhor ator cômico deram abertura para depoimentos fortes de Jill Soloway e Jeffrey Tambor, a favor do fim da violência contra transgêneros e do aumento de oportunidades para transexuais na indústria do entretenimento.
